Hyundai is set to introduce a new driver cooling system at the Acropolis Rally Greece this weekend to combat the expected cockpit temperatures reaching nearly 70 degrees Celsius. The rally in Greece is known for its challenging rough gravel stages and extreme heat, making it one of the toughest events on the World Rally Championship calendar. This year, the event has returned to its traditional June date, with weather forecasts predicting ambient temperatures around 37 degrees, posing a significant challenge for drivers and teams. In response to the high cockpit temperatures, Hyundai will implement a helmet cooling system for the first time in competitive action, aiming to alleviate the extreme conditions for its drivers. The intense heat in the cockpit has prompted teams like Hyundai and Toyota to explore innovative solutions to protect drivers and minimize the impact of the scorching temperatures during the rally.
